Orphans We've Helped

This blog has existed with the mission to help bring orphans home forever since Fall 2010. Since then, here are the kids we have helped.

In December 2010, my (Sarah's) family finished the adoption process of my little brother, Elijah, from Eastern Europe. I love to crochet and sew and I started selling my handmade items on this blog as a fundraiser to bring my little brother home. But thanks to a wonderful benefit from our church we raised all the funds necessary to bring him home. He is home now and you can visit my mom's blog here - My God is Lord.

So I changed my blog to Handiwork for Tori. Tori was a little girl who was at Elijah's orphanage, but got transferred. Soon after I changed my blog to her, she had a full grant and a family! So I changed my blog to Handiwork for Anastasiya, who is another little girl at Elijah's orphanage. Then Tori's family decided to bring her home too! She is now home, and you can visit her blog here - Carrington's Courage.

So I changed my blog to Handiwork for Sergey. Sergey is another little boy at Elijah's orphanage who will be transferred next October. He still needs a family!!!

Even though he didn't have a family, I decided to sell for someone else. I realized that there was another angel who needed the money more - Eddie. Sergey has/had a $5000 grant; Eddie had a $0 grant. Eddie is already 4 and has been transferred; Sergey won't be four until next October. Eddie was in Elijah's former groupa and isn't treated very well (my mom met him while she was there). Well, Eddie now has a $17,000 grant (PRAISE THE LORD!), and a family who is working very hard to bring him home! So I changed my blog again! Eddie is now HOME with his new brother, and you can visit his family's blog here - Add to the Beauty.

Then changed this blog to "Handiwork for Noah". Noah is another little boy at Elijah's former orphanage, and although he did have a family working hard to get him home, they were still are in need of financial help to bring him home. Now, they are home enjoying their boy! You can visit their blog here - Silva~Moose.

Then I changed this blog to "Handiwork for Jonathan", my newest little brother, and added the help of Rachel! She's been a huge help in making things to list here, and I'm so thankful for her help! We unfortunately didn't sell anything to help bring Jonathan home, but now he is home so we had to change it again! He is home now and you can visit my mom's blog here - My God is Lord.

In October 2012 (during Handiwork for Lilly), we sold our stuff at Jimmy's benefit. The family working to adopt Jimmy are friends of ours from church. Jimmy is also our first child we've raised money for that's in Africa (more specifically, Ghana).
